Within the framework of the call for a residency at Grafikwerkstatt in Dresden, at the Cultural Division of the Municipality of Wrocław on 12th of December there was held a jury meeting. As a result this is Dominika Ziober-Król, who will go to Dresden. Congratulations!
The City of Wrocław together with its sister city Dresden organises a residential exchange for artists specialised in graphics for over two years. Thanks to it there were already Natalia Tarnawa and Katarzyna Roman, who worked in Dresden. In 2018 such residency is going to take place for the third time. On the basis of its conditions the selected artist will receive an accommodation, space to work and per diems to cover the travel and material expenses.
Dominika Ziober-Król – a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław (graphics and media art; artistic education). The several times scholar as well as laureate of numerous awards, e.g. Wrocław Academy of Fine Arts Rector Award for the best diploma in 2016. She works in different art disciplines, such as painting, drawing and designing, but her main medium is artistic graphic. All of these disciplines she treats as her tools of artistic expression, and that is also why she mixes techniques, media, and experiments in her pieces. What defines her art, this is combining culture and pop culture values together with her own observations.
